Rose & Kiernan Makes Challenge, Insurance Agencies Assist With Flood Relief
Amsterdam…
Through The Chamber’s flood relief efforts, Rose & Kiernan Insurance Agency recently challenged insurance related businesses to assist in the fundraising efforts. John Murray, President and CEO of the company, called into the flood-a-thon through WVTL’s Bob Cudmore show and announced that Rose and Kiernan would match up to $5,000.00 in flood relief donations. “We wanted to assist with The Chamber’s relief fund and hoped that this would spur additional funds for their efforts,” explains Murray.
The challenge has been heard as John Mancini from Hays and Wormuth, a local insurance agency, not only met the challenge but also exceeded it with a $7,500.00 pledge. “Montgomery County is my hometown,” states Mancini. “I want to do what I can to help the friends and neighbors who have done so much to make this county successful.” Also accepting the challenge were The Sammons Agency, which recently opened on Rt. 30, and Bouchey & Clarke Benefits Inc., with offices at Guy Park Manor, both at $500.00 each.
“The support of these insurance agencies is wonderful,” states Chamber President Deborah Auspelmyer. “Our fund has grown tremendously thanks to these donations. We hope that it continues to grow so that we can assist more businesses in Montgomery County.” To date the fund has over $30,000.00 pledged to it. It is the goal of the Partnership, where the funds are being received, to start disbursing money soon as applications from the business community have started to come in. Monetary donations can be made to The Montgomery County Partnership, and mailed to PO Box 309, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
